Often people don’t realize that a pregnant woman is sensitive, rude comments can hurt their feelings. They don’t think before they speak. If you have ever been pregnant you are sure to deal with tactless and well intentioned people.
Following are the bizarre things people should not say to a pregnant woman:
Was this pregnancy planned?
Such awkward questions about a pregnant person’s birth control habits and private sex doesn’t feel nice. You may come in contact with people, especially old ones that ask such stupid questions. When my friend revealed her pregnancy one of her neighbor asked this stupid question leaving her speechless.
Still pregnant? Strange, hopefully this one is a keeper?
When I was pregnant, a friend asked this to me when she came to know that I was expecting again. I was trying my best and hoping that the baby was healthy. I remembered my last pregnancy when I had a miscarriage and that thought filled my heart with sorrow.
You must be so relieved you're carrying a girl!
My son told to a lady at an amusement park that he will soon get a baby sister, but she laughed in response and said this to me, I really didn’t understand what she was trying to say. I am very happy with my little son and it would have been a thrilling experience for me to have another baby boy.
Whoa! You look like you're going to blow
Referring to my friend’s belly, a woman uttered these words when we had gone to visit a specialist, she was not feeling well at that time but she gracefully ignored that woman but I felt really aggressive and thought of hitting her on the mouth.
It's wonderful! Don’t you realize your butt has gotten bigger!
We didn’t understand if it was a compliment, my close friend was asked this question at the time she was expecting. This is horrible; telling someone like this is really rude.
You look ready!
Many people talks like this to a pregnant woman, they actually try to make her feel that she look tired with dark circles and gray skin.
Your belly is too small; you can’t be seven months pregnant!
With my second pregnancy I didn’t gain much weight and I felt bad about it, I was really very upset when I got this sneaky remark, I felt upset about my little bump, I felt like people blame me for starving my baby. But in the end, I got a healthy baby.
Are you sure you're not having twins?
Looking at my big belly, my hubby asked me this question when I was pregnant. In only a few weeks he was surprised to see the size of my belly. Was it to boost my confidence level?
